This blog was created to showcase the need of an much overdue expungement statue in the state of Alabama. We are a group of college students from multiple institutions in Alabama, who feel that fairness is needed within Alabama's criminal justice system. Nobody is perfect, including Peace Officers, so why should people suffer for life when not convicted of a crime or reformed from a petty misdemeanor conviction? Just getting charged is detrimental to a person's economic future and goals with Alabama's "Right To Work" status stating, that an arrest that yielded no conviction can be used against you, so why be punished even when acquitted? We will share stories from people who are effected by the issue, post stories from individuals on why expungement is needed, share legislative members thoughts on the issue and contact information.

“We believe faith and freedom must be our guiding stars, for they
show us truth, they make us brave, give us hope, and leave us wiser than
we were.”
- Ronald Reagan
